Upgrading from Instant to Verified
Step by step guide to moving from the Instant card to a Verified account with higher limits, a physical card and a EUR IBAN.
The Instant card is a starting point. Instant cards have monthly limits set by our partner and regulators, so when you want higher limits, a physical card or a EUR IBAN account, you verify your identity. You keep your account, your card, your balance and your transaction history.
What changes when you verify
| Instant card | Verified | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly load limit at launch | Approx. 1,000 to 2,500 EUR equivalent | Up to 50,000 EUR equivalent, higher by review |
| Single transaction at launch | Approx. 500 EUR | Card-scheme limits |
| Physical card | No | Yes |
| EUR IBAN account | No | Yes, provided by [PARTNER] |
| ATM withdrawals | Not available or very low | Yes |
| Plans | Free, Plus, Premium | Free, Plus, Premium |
Your subscription plan (Free, Plus or Premium) is separate from verification. Verifying does not change your plan, and changing your plan does not change your limits. See Plans: Free, Plus, Premium.
Before you start
- Have a valid government ID ready. See Documents we accept.
- Check whether your country needs proof of address. The app tells you.
- Make sure the name on your Fundly profile matches your ID exactly. You can edit it under Profile before verifying.
Steps
- Sign in to the Fundly web app at app.fundly.xyz.
- Go to Profile, then Verify identity. You will also see this prompt when you hit an Instant limit, or when you select Order physical card or Open EUR account.
- Choose your document type and your issuing country.
- Take a live photo of the front and, if asked, the back of your document.
- Complete the live selfie.
- If asked, upload a proof of address dated within the last 3 months.
- Submit. Most checks finish within minutes. If your case goes to manual review, you will get a notification within 2 business days.
After approval
When you are approved:
- Your limits increase automatically. See them under Account, then Limits.
- Order physical card becomes available under Cards. See Physical cards.
- Open EUR account becomes available. See Opening your IBAN account.
If verification is declined
A decline is not always final. The app shows the reason. Common ones are an unreadable photo, an expired document, or a name mismatch. Fix the issue and try again.
Some declines cannot be fixed by retrying, for example if you live in a country we do not support, or if our partner's screening returns a match that cannot be cleared. In that case you can keep using the Instant card within its limits, and you can contact the in-app support chat if you think a mistake was made.
