Deposit on Base
How to deposit ETH, USDC and EURC on Base, an Ethereum layer 2, with confirmations, fees and common mistakes.
Base is an Ethereum layer 2 built on the OP Stack. It settles to Ethereum but produces its own blocks every 2 seconds, so deposits are fast and fees are low.
Assets you can deposit
At launch Fundly accepts ETH, USDC and EURC on Base. USDT is not accepted on Base at launch. Other tokens sent to your address are not credited.
How to deposit
- Sign in to the Fundly web app at app.fundly.xyz and choose Deposit.
- Choose Base as the chain and pick the asset.
- Copy your address or scan the QR code. It is a 0x address with 40 hexadecimal characters.
- In your wallet or exchange, choose the Base network. Do not choose Ethereum, even though the address looks the same.
- Paste the address, enter the amount and send.
- Wait about 2 minutes. The deposit shows as pending as soon as it appears on chain.
Confirmations and timing
| Asset | Minimum at launch | Credited after | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETH | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
| USDC, EURC | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
Fundly credits Base deposits on layer 2 confirmations, before the batch is finalized on Ethereum. That is why the deposit is credited in minutes rather than hours.
Fees
Fees on Base are paid in ETH by the sender and are usually a few cents. You need a small amount of ETH on Base to send USDC or EURC. Fundly's deposit fee at launch depends on your plan: Free 1% (minimum 1 EUR), Plus 0.5%, Premium 0%. The rate and fee are shown before you confirm.
Common mistakes
- Withdrawing to Ethereum mainnet by mistake. Ethereum is supported, so support can usually recover the funds for a recovery fee (at launch 25 EUR or 5%, whichever is higher).
- Sending USDT on Base. It is not accepted at launch and is treated as an unsupported asset.
- Sending bridged or wrapped versions of a token instead of the native issuer's token.
- Forgetting ETH for gas on Base, which stops the transaction before it is sent.
