Deposits
Deposit on Optimism
How Fundly deposits on OP Mainnet will work once the chain is enabled, including assets, confirmations, fees and common mistakes.
Note
Optimism (OP Mainnet) is an Ethereum layer 2 built on the OP Stack, the same technology as Base. It settles to Ethereum but processes transactions in 2-second blocks with much lower fees than mainnet.
Assets you can deposit
Once enabled, Fundly plans to accept these assets on Optimism:
- ETH
- USDT
- USDC
- DAI
How to deposit
- Sign in to the Fundly web app at app.fundly.xyz and choose Deposit.
- Choose Optimism as the chain and the asset you want to send.
- Copy your deposit address or scan the QR code. It is a standard
0xaddress with 40 hexadecimal characters. - In your wallet or exchange, choose the network labelled Optimism or OP Mainnet.
- Paste the address, check the first and last characters, and send.
- Wait for confirmations. Fundly will credit the deposit after 60 L2 blocks, about 2 minutes.
Your address will be unique to you and reusable. No memo is needed.
Confirmations and timing
Fundly credits deposits on L2 confirmations, before the rollup finalizes on Ethereum. That is why layer 2 deposits are fast.
| Asset | Minimum | Fundly credits after | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETH | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
| USDT | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
| USDC | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
| DAI | 10 EUR equivalent | 60 L2 blocks | about 2 minutes |
Fees
- Network fee, paid in ETH by the sender. On Optimism this is normally a few cents.
- Fundly deposit fee, taken at conversion. At launch this is 1% (minimum 1 EUR) on Free, 0.5% on Plus and 0% on Premium. See the fee schedule.
Common mistakes
- Wrong network with the same address. Your Optimism address is identical to your Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon and BNB Chain addresses. If you select the wrong network, the funds arrive on that chain instead. If that chain is supported by Fundly, support can usually recover the deposit for a recovery fee.
- Sending to Optimism before it is enabled. Until the chain is live, the app will not offer Optimism as an option. Do not send assets on Optimism to an address you copied from another chain's deposit screen. Fundly cannot promise recovery for chains that are not yet supported.
- Confusing Optimism with other OP Stack chains. Base, Zora and Mode use the same technology but are different networks. Choose exactly the one shown in the app.
- Bridged versus native stablecoins. Some wallets show more than one USDC on Optimism. Choose the native USDC issued by Circle where the option exists.
Tip
Withdrawing from an exchange directly to Optimism is usually cheaper than sending to Ethereum mainnet and bridging yourself.
